Bio

Paul Fenn Explained

Paul is a senior copywriter and generator of creative ideas for business. He began in Singapore in the mid-90s as a junior writer freelancing at the legendary Ball Partnership, and later with BBDO, O&M, DDB, DMB&B, Grey, Y&R and various graphic design shops. He now works with clients in digital, advertising, graphic design, branding and directly with private clientele.

Paul has thrived in every imaginable brand category from consumer to financial to industrial, in North America and Asia.

Based in Toronto

Paul primarily writes online & offline ad and social campaigns. But he’s frequently hired to develop and define entire brand concepts from the ground up, including naming of companies, products and services. Additionally, he writes and co-produces commercials, videos, television show ideas, stunts to get attention, corporate websites, keeps a number of blogs, as well as composing the occasional feature-length screenplay, book and indecent limerick.

Inventing a charity

In 2010, he thought up, pitched and co-launched a new charity, The Autists, to raise funds for Toronto’s Geneva Centre for Autism. In its first two years, the one-night gala bash has netted around $255,000 for the Centre. He oversees all creative aspects — branding, advertising, promotion and courting of media companies, ad agencies, design firms, printers and others who donate their services and products to help publicize and bring new talent to the cause.

If it requires words and ideas, Paul is ready to bring it into being, fall in love with it and raise it like his own beloved offspring.

Off hours

Paul is a committed mountain biker and finally learned to surf in Bali in January 2007.

He lives with his wife and 13-year-old stepdaughter in midtown Toronto.
