Project Objectives
In 2009, I worked with Geneva Centre in co-producing an annual fundraising event called The Autists. It was a big party, with Chaka Khan playing live, plus live art auctions (including a Peter Doig painting) and tons of donated catered food & drink. We held the Autists at Koerner Hall for its first few years. It was then moved to Corus Quay on Toronto’s waterfront, by Sugar Beach. This poster was posted all over the city and used in digital form to advertise the event. My design partner, Laura Wills of messenger, did a scintillating, pro bono job of it and much other Autists collateral over the years.

Content delivered
The headline had to encompass the event, the cause and the high festivity of The Autists bash. Indeed, the layout developed by Laura called for something succinct, subtle and upbeat. Body copy had to be short, descriptive and mighty persuasive, teasing readers into wanting to attend. In any event, the party was packed, everyone had a blast and we exceeded our fundraising goal. We’ll call it a win.

Customer Feedback
I have had the pleasure of working with Paul Fenn on our major fundraising gala The Autists for two years running. Paul’s leadership, insight, enthusiasm, sense of humour and creativity is an inspiration to all who come in contact with him. He has shown incredible leadership in making invaluable contacts for us. His vision is grand, and his creative instincts are both highly refined and intuitive. He’s a great copywriter with his button on the pulse of what’s happening, what’s current and what’s about to happen. I highly recommend Paul and his services for any forward-thinking company, project or event. On top of all that, he’s a great guy! — Hindy Abelson, Former Fundraising Lead, Geneva Centre for Autism Foundation
